An anonymous donor has come forward to match donations or supplement scholarships that are not fully funded, according to the Milbank High School Education Foundation. The foundation announced the anonymous donation will run through April 2019 and will match up to $50,000.

The MHSEF, founded in 1986, has awarded over 450 scholarships and approximately $1,900,000 to facilitate post-high school education. The foundation awards a minimum of 34 scholarships with amounts ranging from $1,000 to $26,000 to graduating seniors of Milbank High School. All scholarships are endowed and provide an everlasting tribute to individuals, families and companies who make this one of the most successful high school scholarship programs in the area.

Those who have established named scholarships are recognized in the halls of Milbank High School, through plaques awarded annually to recipients and the opportunity to keep memories alive in presenting the scholarships at the foundation’s annual banquet.

The Milbank High School Educational Foundation also announced Becky Scribner (Upton) has joined the foundation as a board member. Becky is a 2003 graduate of MHS and a former Engebretson Scholarship recipient. Other board members include: Chad Nelson-President, Susan Leddy-Vice President, Sue Stengel- Secretary, Nichole Bury-Treasurer, Mike Misterek, and Jeff Jones.

Questions? Contact any board member. Want to make a donation? Send it to the Milbank High School Education Foundation at 904 East 4th Avenue in Milbank.
