The 30th Annual Piano Festival, sponsored by the Milbank area piano teachers and showcasing local students, will be held on Sunday, February 24, at 2 p.m. in the MHS theatre. To celebrate the 30th anniversary the recital will also feature an ensemble for two pianos and eight hands, performed by four area music teachers.
The original idea for the Piano Festival came from two long time area piano teachers – LaVerna Moldenhauer and LaVona VandeVoort. They wanted to create an avenue to encourage students to continue their studies and provide an opportunity for them to play in a recital with a larger audience than their individual studios allowed.
Admission is free. Refreshments will follow.
