Want a job babysitting this summer? The Grant County 4-H office will hold a free basic babysitting clinic on Monday, April 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Grant County Courthouse community room. The workshop will include sessions on caring for infants and young children, safe cooking skills, basic first aid skills and emergency preparedness, and social engagement. The workshop is open to youth age 11 and older.

“Babysitting is not just a job, it’s a responsibility!” says Sara Koepke, Grant County 4-H Youth Program Advisor. “Many area youth are considering this service to earn spending money this summer, and this is an opportunity for them to gain the skills to be successful. This is also a great resource to prepare youth to stay home alone.”

Registration must be completed by Thursday, April 4, and the workshop is limited to the first 25 babysitters. There is no registration fee. The program is funded by Thrivent Financial. Participants need to bring a sack lunch.
