The community is invited to attend the St. Lawrence School spring program on Wednesday, May 15 at 1:30 and 7:00 pm in the St. Lawrence gymnasium. Principal, Brenda Anderson said, “The theme of the program, “Choose Jesus,” was taken from our Catholic Schools Week curriculum this year.” The fifth and sixth grade will be acting out the story of the ten lepers that Jesus healed, based on Luke 17:11-19, and the story of the paralyzed man whose friends were determined to bring him to Jesus in Mark 2:1-12. Students in grades 3-6 will sing “Ten Men” and “Tear the Roof Off,” based on those Bible stories, along with “Talk, Talk,” a song about loving others with our actions, not just words.

First and second grades will sing songs about obeying and following Jesus: “Somebody’s Knockin’ at Your Door,” “The Captain’s Call,” and “I Will Hasten.” Preschool and kindergarten will sing “Jesus Loves Me,” “God Made Me,” and “Jesus Loves You and Me.” Students will join together to sing “Choose Jesus” at the end of the program.

The audience will also see the instrumental curriculum demonstrated with students playing chimes, recorders, and (new this year) ukuleles. Soloists will again provide instrumental prelude music before the program starts. Anderson concluded with, “We are excited to share a sample of what we’ve learned this year with our families and friends!”
