Kelli Hoff has joined the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce office as an assistant to the director Laurie Folk. The position is part time and temporary for the summer. This arrangement suits Kelli perfectly as during the school year she is a special education teacher at Koch School. She also coaches girls basketball, volleyball, and track at MHS. She says one thing she has had to adjust to at the Chamber is being called Kelli. “I’ve gotten so accustomed to answering to Miss Hoff or Coach Hoff.”

Kelli, a graduate of Brandon Valley High School and The University of Sioux Falls, moved to Milbank three years ago from Tyndall, which is 30 miles west of Yankton. She says Milbank was another adjustment because it is three times bigger than Tyndall. “My new job at the Chamber is quite different from my teaching job, too, but it is fun to know firsthand what is happening in the community.”

For the most part, Kelli’s duties vary from day to day with a focus on Farley Fest. As the summer goes on she will be working more and more with Farley Fest. “This,” she says, “gives me the opportunity to meet new people. It’s only been a few weeks, but I have become acquainted with business people I had never met and visited businesses I had never been to.”
