Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank. Father Gary DeRouchey will celebrate the Mass. Interment will be at the Milbank City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, at the Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank and one hour prior to Mass at the church in Milbank on Monday.

Debra “Deb” Kay Adams was born on June 15, 1959, in Milbank, SD. She was the daughter of Clarence Dean Adams and Donna Mae (Bloomhall) Adams. Deb grew up in the Milbank area. She attended Milbank schools and graduated from Milbank High School. Deb was united in marriage with James Edward Speidel on November 11, 1978. Together they were blessed with 38 years of marriage and three children: Kimberly, Christopher, and Michelle.

Deb was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She enjoyed Bingo, Google Play, and red licorice. She loved to ride 4-wheelers with Jim. Deb and Jim enjoyed two trips to Las Vegas to celebrate special occasions with family and friends. She and Jim worked very hard together, side by side. Deb especially adored her grandchildren.

Jim died on October 31, 2017. Due to health reasons, Deb moved into Avantara Milbank shortly after Jim’s death.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kimberly Veen (Christopher Lee) of Ortonville, MN; Christopher Speidel (Gillian Mattice) of Milbank, SD; and Michelle Speidel (Lincoln Thurman) of Milbank, SD; siblings: Rhonda Wellnitz of Chokio, MN; Mary Adams (Dale Johnson) of Sioux Falls, SD; Bob (Laurie) Adams of Brandon, SD; and Colleen Nielsen of Baltic, SD; six grandchildren: Brianna, Blake, Bentley, Khloe, Kynlee, and Evan; three brothers-in-law: Chuck (Pam) Speidel of Tea, SD; Duane Speidel of Sioux Falls, SD; and Roger Speidel of Collinsville, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Donna; and her husband, Jim.
