Dawgs Presented With Season-End Gridiron Awards

The Milbank Bulldog football team wrapped up its 2019 season with an awards potluck on October 29, at the American Lutheran Church. Sophomore Ryker Trevett was named the Lineman of the Year. Fellow sophomore Evan Hausauer was presented with the Scoutie of the Year award, and freshman Justus Osborn received the Frosh of the Year award.

Senior Max McCulloch was selected as the Mr. Bulldog Most Valuable Player this season. Sophomore Marshall Voeltz was named the Junior Varsity MVP, and sophomore Bennett Schwenn received the Mr. Dedication award.

Additional recipients included sophomore Maddox Hanson, Effort award; sophomore Kellen Hoeke, Most Improved award; senior JD Lusk, Spirit award; and sophomore Kaden Krause, Character award.

Senior players presented with trophies for the Senior Appreciation award included: Sam Seffrood, Max McCulloch, Noah Steinlicht, Breyden Miller, Carlos Ramirez, Brodie Holtquist, JD Lusk, Dillon Schneck, Elijah Fraasch, Alex Schuelke, Angel Chen, Jorge Calderon, Bryan Wiese, and Evan Erickson. Sam Seffrood, JD Lusk, and Alex Schuelke were each named to the South Dakota High School Activities Association Academic All-State team.

Major M letter winners were recognized for their contributions to the varsity team. Seniors include: Sam Seffrood, Max McCulloch, Noah Steinlicht, Breyden Miller, Carlos Ramirez, Brodie Holtquist, JD Lusk, Dillon Schneck, Elijah Fraasch, Alex Schuelke, Angel Chen,Jorge Calderon, Bryan Wiese, and Evan Erickson.

Junior major M winners include: Tanner Mertens, Brendan Engebretson, Matt Christensen, Micah Dietmeier, Toby Schneck, Parker Schell, Nick Ruhr, Jared Johnson, and Will Cummins.

Major M winners from the sophomore class include: Michael Karges, Stevie Ash, Jack Sandvig, Marshall Voeltz, Kaden Krause, Cole Swenson, Kellen Hoeke, Karson Weber, Bennett Schwenn, Isaac Schulte, Leyton Raffety, Evan Hausauer, Jace Rufer, Benett Street, Connor Bender, Maddox Hanson, Ryker Trevett, Wylie Mursu, and Carter Bowsher. Sawyer Gauer was the lone major M letter winner from the freshman class.

Minor M winners from the sophomore class were Chaz Reinhardt and Alex Hilbrands. Freshmen were Khayri Bergman, Justus Osborn, Jackson Bohlen, Barrett Schneck, Brayden Christensen, Aiden Foell, Isaiah Korstjens, Will Snaza, Nick Anderson, Tice Mursu, Luis Berrones,Tyler Lee, Gauge Stengel, Sammy Femling, and Eli Johnson.
