Two Milbank swimmers competed in the three-day Candy Cane Swim Meet in Watertown from December 6- 8. The meet was the first prelim/final format meet of the season in South Dakota and attracts over 450 swimmers vying for a finish in the top eight.

Amaya Street and Savanna Osowski qualified for the A finals in all six of their events. Street swam a personal best in the 100-meter butterfly and went on to win the 100-meter breaststroke prelims. Osowski posted personal best scores in the 200-meter breaststroke and the 200-meter backstroke.

“These two girls are the top breaststrokers in the state,” said Milbank’s head coach, Jodi Street. “It’s fun to watch them compete and push one another. The Candy Cane meet was a great experience for us to swim next to many of the top swimmers we will see at the championship level.”
