Dustin Johnson was elected to represent the Local Administrative Area 3 (LAA 3) at the Grant County FSA Committee election conducted by the Grant County Farm Service Agency (FSA). Local Administrative Area 3 (LAA 3) includes Adams, Georgia, Madison, Stockholm, Troy, and Vernon townships. Farmers who serve on the committee help decide the programs the county will offer to meet the needs of local producers. Grant County FSA Committee elected members also include Mark Mueller and Lyle Zirbel.

Elected county committee members serve a three-year term and are responsible for making decisions on FSA disaster, conservation, commodity and price support programs, and other federal farm program issues. In addition to elected or appointed members, FSA county committees also include non-voting minority advisors. Betty Frogner, who has served as the Grant County Committee Advisor since March 2012, has decided step down from her position.

Advisors are appointed to county committees in counties that have significant numbers of underserved (minority or women) producers but lack such members on FSA county committees. Advisors provide diverse viewpoints and represent the interests of minorities and women in decisions made by county committees. FSA state committees officially appoint advisors who are recommended by county committees or community-based organizations.

Any minority or woman interested in becoming a member of the Grant County FSA Committee can contact the Grant County FSA Office by Friday, January 17, 2020. The nominee must be an eligible voter in FSA elections.
