Brandon Robert O’Neill

Brandon Robert O’Neill, 47, of Labolt, SD, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health in Milbank. 

Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Grandstay Hotel in Milbank. 

Brandon Robert O’Neill was born on June 12, 1976, to Robert J. O’Neill (deceased 2014) and Sandra (Maehl) O’Neill Sleigh in Panorama City, CA. In 6th grade, the family relocated to Suisun, CA, where he participated in numerous sports through his teens and adulthood. Brandon loved playing soccer and baseball, and was a lifelong fan of the 49ers, Giants, and Sharks.

After graduating from high school Brandon joined the IBEW local 180 Electricians of Napa Solano counties where he completed 5 years of trade school and worked for 28 years with the union. It was a career that Brandon respected, had passion for and was proud of. He and his family relocated to South Dakota where Brandon continued his electrical work with Muth Electric until his passing. Brandon loved the outdoors; he enjoyed spending time camping, hiking, and BBQing out front so he could talk to everyone. Brandon shared the love of CCR and John Fogerty with his dad where they’d sit in the garage listening to it repeatedly over drinks. Brandon had a great sense of humor and loved being around people.

Brandon was a loving husband, father, and great friend. He is survived by his daughter, Courtney O’Neill of Labolt, SD; sons: Ryan O’Neill of Colorado; and Jacob O’Neill of Labolt, SD; mom and stepdad, Sandy and Terry Sleigh of Arizona; sister, Renee Watwood of Las Vegas, NV; former wife, Brandy Clapsaddle of Aberdeen SD; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, loving friends, and family dog, Shadow. 

We love you B(nugs) and we will truly miss your humor, sarcasm, and the genuine love you gave us all.
