St. Lawrence students will present their annual Christmas program with two performances on Wednesday, December 11. The first seating begins at 1:30 p.m. and the last one is at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited. Volunteer student musicians will provide an instrumental prelude before the program begins.

This year’s musical is Checkin’ It Twice by Cathy Skogen-Soldner. It reminds viewers that the most important thing on our Christmas list is to celebrate Jesus! The characters in the Christmas story are all played by sixth graders. Trinity Brehmer plays the part of Mary; Oliver Folk plays Joseph; Bridget Nelson is the Innkeeper; Kinleigh Brandenburger is Gabriel. Other angels are Tatum Brehmer, Isabelle Karels, Bridget Nelson, and Rosie Street. Derek Hoffmann is the lead shepherd. The narrator parts are read by Riley Krause, Isabelle Karels and Tatum Brehmer. Krause will double as a wise man. He will be joined by Zayne Frerichs and Simon Hicks.

Fourth graders will be featured on recorders playing “Rhapsody on an Ancient Carol.” Fifth grade students will chime “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and sixth graders will chime “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.”  Students in preschool and kindergarten will sing “Come on Ring Those Bells,” “God Loved Us and Sent His Son,” “Twinkle Christmas Star,” and “O Come Little Children.”  First and second graders will sing “We Sing Gloria,” “Happy Birthday, Jesus,” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas. Second graders join the upper grades for the finale: “The Angels Sang,” featuring second and third grade voices in “angel choir” harmony.
