End-of-Season Volleyball Awards Announced

Nancy Hoeke, head coach for the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team, announced the end-of- season awards for 2024.

Varsity Awards
Senior Addisyn Krause, a team captain, was named MVP. Addisyn led the Lady Bulldogs in aces with 83. She was second in assists at 279 and third in digs at 355. Addisyn was also commended for accruing over 1000 digs during her high school career. Senior Ella Sandvig, who was also a team captain and also accrued over 1000 digs as a Lady Bulldog, was voted Most Inspirational. Ella was recognized for being the team leader in digs this season at 456. Senior Claire Snaza was honored for leading the team in both blocks and kills. Claire amassed 53 blocks and 270 kills. Isabella Anderson was second in blocks with 31 and second in kills with 170. 

Freshman Avery Schuneman was voted the Most Improved player. She was also recognized for her serving accuracy. Avery landed 151 of 159 serves for a success rate of  95 percent – the highest on this year’s team. Senior Rylee Scoular received a  plaque for being the team leader in assists at 437 and for being second in the number of aces at 45. Senior Siera Wenzl received a plaque for being the Hardest Worker on the team. Siera was also second on the team for number of digs at 379.

State Awards
Snaza and Krause were each honored for being selected for the  All-Conference Player list. The varsity team received an SDHSAA Fall Academic Team Award.

Major M Awards
Varsity players lettering and receiving a Major M were Seniors – Isabella Anderson, Addisyn Krause, Ella Sandvig, Rylee Scoular, Claire Snaza, and Siera Wenzl. Juniors included Jacy Dexter and Kenzie Kooima; and Freshmen Adison Pauli and Avery Schuneman.

JV and C-Team Awards
The Maroon and Gold awards went to Kenzie Kooima on the JV team and Kennedi Sayler on the C squad. Bulldog awards were presented to Evy Liebe on the JV team and Macyn Dunnihoo on the C team.

Player Participation Awards
Players who completed the season were recognized with participation certificates.  They included Juniors-Kalli Grong, Evy Liebe, Allie Meyer, Addi Morton, Kenadee Mueller, and Elyssa Tomac. Sophomores –  Macyn Dunnihoo, Isabella Flores, Morgean French, Rhylei Gengler, Bailey Koepke, Heyden Montag, Yani Montes, Adalynn Roark, Kennedi Sayler, Reese Schuneman, and Tayla Trapp. Freshmen – Taylor Anderson, Kaitlyn Brandenburger, Lydia Gall, Rileigh Gapp, Brooke Hendricks, Belle Pauli, Bree Townsend, and Brooklyn Twedt.
