Milbank traveled to Hendricks for a triangular against Estelline-Hendricks and Sioux Falls O’Gorman. The varsity team took third place with a final score of 126.4.

The team started out on the Bars, tying their highest team bar score of the season at 29.6. “They have worked hard to clean up their routines and their scores are starting to show it,” Coach Kelly Wollschlager said.  “Gemma and Raina started us out strong with clean no-stop routines both scoring a 6.0. Mady was up next and performed her long hang kip connection for the first time this season, scoring a 5.55. Jada Leigh had a fall on her squat-on, but finished strong with a nice kip-kip-fly away connection and stuck landing. Macyn had a clean routine for a 7.45 showing her consistency. Hannah finished us off with a nice clean routine including both her release and free-hip for a personal best of 7.9.”

Next up, was the Beam, “Mady started us off solid with a no-fall routine for a 7.05, Aria was next with a 6.4, Jada Leigh with a 7.1, Raina with an 8.3 also with a no-fall solid routine and also her first  (1-of-3) state-qualifying score. Although Gemma missed her tumbling connection, she had a solid routine making her round-off for the first time in competition and scoring a 7.65. Hannah had an 8.3 and Macyn finished us off with a 7.0.”

On the Floor, “Mady started us off with a 7.55, Aria 7.6, Jada Leigh performed her nice high front-tuck front-tuck for a 7.7. Gemma added in her branni to get her one-half twist requirement and scored an 8.1. Raina also added in a one-half  twist requirement by doing a layout one-half for the first time this season and scoring an 8.25. Macyn received an 8.1.” Vault. “Aria started us off with a nice one-half  for a 7.9. Jada Leigh with a stuck landing

The Lady Bulldogs’ last event was the on her one half-one half for a 8.1, Gemma a 7.6. Raina scored an 8.4 to tie her personal best. Mady had an 8.3, and Macyn scored an 8.5,” Wollschlager said.

In the All-Around, Gemma scored 29.35 for a personal best. Macyn had a  31.05, Mady, 28.45; Raina, 30.95; Aria, 29.25; and  Jada Leigh, 29.8.

What’s next? Milbank will perform again on Saturday, January 18 in Madison at an invitational against nine other schools.
