MHS Wrestlers Win War of North and South

Bulldog  wrestlers hosted the North versus the South meet at the MIlbank Armory on Thursday February 6.  “This is a four-team dual night featured two schools from the North – Webster and Milbank– and two schools from the south – Dell Rapids and Lennox. The two north teams went undefeated against the south teams,” said Josh Schmeichel, head coach for the Bulldogs.”

Milbank started off against Dell Rapids and took the win at  58 – 20. Abe Fischer secured their first  fall at 106, and the Bulldogs went on to collect five forfeits, three  more falls, and a major decision. They gave up two major decisions and two falls.

During their second dual against Lennox, Milbank  was vicotious with the final score of 66 – 12.  The Bulldogs  finished with three pins and a decision and only lost two  matches.

In the girls division, in their two matchups against Dell Rapids, the Lady Bulldogs  ended at 1 – 1.  Andrea Luna Sanchez lost by a decision and Kyra Tostenson won by a decision. In their next dual against Lennox. MIlbank ended at 1-1 again.  Andrea lost by technical fall and Aza Scavariel won by a fall.

“Lastly, since the girls didn’t wrestle in Webster the week before, we decided to wrestle our girls on Thursday,” Schmeichel noted. “During the two matches we got lined up, Andrea ended up losing by a fall and Aza Scavariel lost by tech fall.
