Milbank Tennis Heats Up in Close Matches 

Milbank traveled to Huron to compete in a triangular that also included Roncalli on Tuesday, April 22.  Abbey Trapp, head coach for the Bulldogs, said, “Everyone played with passion and heart. In singles against Huron, both Greg and Will played great and got  wins. At No. 1 In doubles, we pulled off an amazing victory in a tiebreaker.”  Milbank fought in several heated games, but eventually took the losses at 6-3 against Huron and 5-4 against Roncalli. “This is the closest we have ended a match with Roncalli in years!” Trapp noted. 

Singles Results –  Milbank 2 versus Huron 4:

1. Charles Whitesitt was defeated by Matthew Thin 10-3 
2. Greg Grabow defeated Say Poe 10-4
3. Will Muellenbach defeated Htoo Say Zan 10-7
4. Alex Baugh was defeated by  Maner Htoo 9-10 (8-6)
5. Devon Mueller was defeated by Ler Hai Moo 10-1
6. James Nelson was defeated by Aung Myit  10-3

Doubles Results – Milbank 1 versus Huron 2:

1. Whitesitt and Muellenbach defeated Thin and M. Htoo  10-9 (8-2)
2. Grabow and Baugh were defeated by Poe and H. Zan 10-8
3. Mueller and Landon Appl were defeated by l.H. Moo and Ywa Hae K. Moo 10-3

The action proved equally intense in the Bulldogs’ match against Roncalli. Trapp called it a “nailbiter” and stated it came down to one match. The Bulldogs tied with the Cavaliers in singles at 3-3, but lost 2-1 in doubles.

1. Whitesitt and Muellenbach were defeated by May and Haskell 10-3
2. Grabow and Baugh defeated Feickert and Goebel 10-8
3. Mueller and Landon Appl were defeated by Stoks and Voehl 10-5
