An estimated 850 people attended the Fourth Annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Lake Farley Park in Milbank on Saturday, May 3. The event, organized by the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC), featured free music, dancing, special food vendors, kids’ activities, giveaways, and an outdoor movie.

Eight bikes and scooters were given away:

  3. Bethany Hover
  4. Nicole Wipf
  5. Margarita Lopez
  6. Lennox Stanton
  7. Tai Demarrias
  8. Scarlett Verdoza

Live performances included the band Mariachi Los Rancheros, the folk dance group Raíces de mi Tierra, and Grupo Quinientos Siete. Jamie Henderson executive director of MACC estimated 40 people stayed for the showing of Disney’s Encanto after sunset.

“We had a great turnout for our fourth Cinco de Mayo celebration,” said  Henderson. “The weather was perfect, and it was wonderful to see so many people from the community and the area come out to enjoy the festivities. We are grateful for the continued support of local businesses, the City of Milbank, and the entire community.”
