Sixty people were entertained by Paul Imholte at the Big Stone City Library’s first Summer Reading program of the summer on June 4. Imholte, a musician from St. Cloud, Minnesota, played the hammered dulcimer – a trapezoid-shaped instrument played by striking strings with light hammers. Along with the dulcimer, Imholte sang and played the fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, viola, autoharp, harmonica, and jaw harp.
Some of the songs were his original work and others were popular folk music.
The Summer Reading program continues at the Big Stone City Library through July 16. This year’s theme is Color My World. The Big Stone City Library is one of three libraries in the Grant County Library System.
