The 2025 Hub City Invite in Aberdeen on September 2 was packed with exciting action for the golfers and the 10 teams. Milbank’s Jonathan DeBoer finished with a fifth-place medal. The race for the individual title went down to the wire. Forerunners Jerome Zebroski of Watertown and Tyson Dunn of Brookings completed twin rounds at one under at 70 and were challenged to a three-hole playoff.  It was a battle, but Zebroski emerged victorious when he sank an impressive 25-foot putt. The fact that Zebroski is a senior, and it was his first recorded victory just added to the hoopla.

The race for the team title was also in question. Watertown and Brookings kept everyone guessing as they took turns holding the lead. At the end of the day, Watertown claimed the win by just one stroke.

Mark Keeton, head coach for Milbank, also commented on MIlbank’s effort as a team,”We were able to keep our score under 400. That’s a goal for us!”

Seth VanHoorn carded 104 for 48th place.

Bulldog Thomas Bass shot  92 for 39th place.

Jeryn Bormann finished with 116 for 55th place.

Jesus Padilla came in at 127 for 57th.

Pierce Mathiason was right behind him at 128 for 58th place.

Team standings:  (1) Watertown – 299   (2) Brookings – 300   (3) Roncalli – 304  (4) Aberdeen Central – 308   (5) Pierre – 325  (6) Groton – 364  (7) Sisseton – 374  (8) Milbank – 387   (9) Redfield – 392 and (10) Huron – 427
