The Milbank Middle School marching band earned first-place honors in their division of the Lake Region Marching Band Festival. The festival was held in Groton on October 10. Seventeen bands competed in three divisions –middle school, combined high school, and high school.
Bands included Warner, Holgate-Simmons Middle School, Milbank Middle School, Britton-Hecla, Castlewood, Frederick Area, Great Plains Lutheran, Northwestern, Redfield, T.F. Riggs – Pierre, Watertown, Aberdeen Roncalli, Hoven, Ipswich, Langford Area, Leola, and Groton Area.
Chaperones Nicole Brehmer, Laura Dallman, Amanda Grabow, Kristin Gunnink, and Chrissy Peiker accompanied the Milbank sixth, seventh, and eighth graders to Groton. Susan Karels serves as the middle school band director for the Milbank School District.
