Bulldogs Head to State Cross Country Championships

The  Bulldogs cross country teams are headed to State! Both the varsity boys and the varsity girls qualified by finishing in the top-three teams during the Region 1A meet in Webster on October 15. Jeter Scoular won the boys race and the individual Region 1A title for Milbank. Ella Koplin was the top-finishing Lady Bulldog. She came in at No. 7. The top-15 runners took home ribbons.

Eric Townsend, head coach for Milbank, noted this is the ninth consecutive season both teams will compete at State. The boys have qualified since 2017 and the girls have been contenders since 2011– 15 straight years. The JV runners also impressed. The JV girls took the title and the boys secured third place. Lady Bulldog Ainsley Brown won the girls 4K race. Milbank JV girls also placed nine runners in the top 11.

The 2025 South Dakota High School Cross Country Championships will be held this Saturday, October 25, at the Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron. The Class A Boys race starts at Noon and the Class A Girls race begins at 1:30 pm. Awards for the top-25 individuals and top- six teams will be presented following the last race at around 3 pm.
