The 62nd Milbank Snow Queen Festival is just around the corner. The new Miss Milbank will be crowned on Saturday, November 15. To keep the (snow)ball rolling, here’s Clue No. 7 in The Mystery Snowman Contest. Look for the Bonus Clue!
Clues about a well-known person in the Milbank community will be published here on The Valley Express each day until the Festival. Sort out the clues, uncover the Snowman’s identity, and submit your guess.
The first person to correctly name the Mystery Snowman wins a cool $100 in Ol’ Mill Bucks. Submit one guess or one guess per day. See the real face of Frosty revealed during the Snow Queen Festival on Saturday.
1. Growing up, I cruised the Loop for hours on the four-lane from the turn-around by the Legion Baseball monument to the phone booth in Trevett’s parking lot and back… and around and around and around…
Bonus Clue: I am a proud member of the Milbank Bulldogs alumni who played on the old football field.
2. In high school, my girl was Pearl. Although she was hot, and we had a lot of fun together, we parted ways when I went off to NSU.
Bonus Clue: I worked for the railroad and did road construction in three states.
3. My first track meet was racing neighborhood kids around Riggins Trailer Park. We made teams and ran relays.
4. I jumped around a lot when I was younger, but I have always called Milbank home.
Bonus Clue: My favorite musical is Jersey Boys.
5. I bought candy for a penny from the local candy store, even though my dad gave it away.
6. Weekdays, my home is on the range.
7. I was inducted into the Northern State University Athletic Hall of Fame.
Bonus: I have seven grand little snowballs. The seventh one is a mini snowman – only one day old.
