“We had a wonderful weekend spreading holiday cheer during Milbank Hometown Christmas and are so thankful for our sponsors, businesses, volunteers, and the community for their continued support,” stated Jamie Henderson, executive director of the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC). 

The weekend of December 5-6 was filled with holiday happenings from visits and photo ops with Santa and the new Miss Milbank to browsing the 35 booths at the Craft and Vendor Fair, lighting the giant tree and caroling, cosmic bowling at Top Hat and karaoke at The Pump. 

The People’s Choice Award during  the Soup Walk on Friday night went to The Millstone Family Restaurant for their knoephla soup – a rich and creamy potato and dumpling soup. The Millstone received $200 in Ol’ Mill Bucks for their delicious rendition of this Midwestern classic.

Two events are still going on. The Drive-Thru Light Display at  the Grant County 4-H Grounds remains open every night from 5-9 p.m. until January  1.Take the family for a short ride and see the dazzling displays.

Light Up Milbank – the  business decorating contest – continues through December 31. 
Vote for your favorite online. Milbank businesses are joining in friendly competition to spread holiday cheer by decorating their business with festive light displays to warm up the winter. The winning business receives a free annual MACC Membership valued at $225. Open to all businesses. Chamber membership is not required.
