The annual Spring Fling and Easter Party will be held at the Big Stone City Branch Library on Saturday, April 4. All children ages three to 10 years old are invited. The event runs from 1 -2:30 p.m., but it is designed to be come-and-go-as-you-please.  Three stations will be available for the children to enjoy: Easter stories, Easter craft, and frost an Easter cookie.

Prizewinners during the recent Adult Reading Program were Betty Zahnow, Sue Christensen, Chari Bohlman, Lisa Robinson, Pat Stenzal and Therese Laskowske. A total of 63 books were read during the six-week library program.

The library’s two book clubs continue through May. The books are provided, and each group reads a different book. The evening group meets one Monday evening a month. The daytime group meets one Tuesday morning a month. Each group session lasts one hour and involves questions about the book and other books participants have read.

Janelle Kelly, manager of the Big Stone City branch, reminds patrons that the Big Stone Library is part of the Grant County Library system, “All Grant County library cards  work in this library.” Kelly also noted, ”Pioneerland library users (MN) may also get a library card and check out items at the Big Stone Library.”

The Big Stone City Branch Library is located at 400 Washington Street – one block south of Main Street. Find it on the south side of the Big Stone City Community Center.

Library hours: Wednesday Noon-6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. -1 p.m.
