Vegas Gold Team Wins 7th Annual MHS Alumni Basketball Tourney

The Vegas Gold Team was undefeated at 3-0 to win the Seventh Annual MHS Alumni Basketball Tournament on Saturday, April 4.  Vegas Gold teammates included Justus Osborne, Tice Mursu, Sammy Femling, Jaxson Wildung, Joe Schulte, Bryan Meyer, Mason Meister, Charlie Peery, Howie Zemlicka, and Sebastian Hooth  – all graduates of MHS from 2023 to 2025. The Maroon Team (2001-2009) took second place with just one loss at 2-1.

Jason Bear (2005) scored the most points in the tourney. He collected  35. Joe Schulte (2024) followed with 31 points. Lance Frogner (2008)  and Jeff Fish (2008) each put up 29 points. Bear recorded  a game-high 18 points. He was followed by Frogner (2008), who put up 17 points in one game. 

Sebastian Hooth (2025) grabbed a game-high 12 boards in a single game. Dylan Fox (2014) pulled down 11 rebounds in one game. 

The tournament, coordinated by Bulldog basketball coach Logan Diede, was held at the Milbank Armory and featured a Round Robin format.
