Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odessa with Pastor Thaine Kister officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, at the Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville from 5-7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Odessa.

Lillian Margaret (Stock) Knutson was born August 4, 1923, in Ortonville, MN. She was the daughter of Gustave and Dorothea (Kolkman) Stock. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odessa on August 30, 1923, and confirmed her Christian faith on March 21, 1937. Lillian graduated from Odessa High School with the class of 1941. She stayed at home and kept house for her father and brothers after her mother passed away at the age of 42. Lillian was united in marriage with Joseph Knutson on December 16, 1942, at the parsonage of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Lillian and Joseph lived on the farm for many years. They moved into Odessa and Lillian ran Johnny Schell’s Café for a couple of years. She cooked at the Theater of Seasons Cafe in Ortonville. Lillian was also a bartender at the Liquor Stores in Odessa, Appleton, Big Stone City, and Bellingham, as well as Gene’s Cove in Ortonville. Lillian was a cook and waitress at Club 7-75 and The Mudhen Café in Odessa. She retired at the age of 72. Lillian moved into Ortonville and lived at the Lakeside Apartments before moving to Fairway View.

Lillian was always friendly and had a smile on her face. She was always helping people that needed a helping hand and had many friends. Her favorite pastime was feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. Lillian loved to dance and listen to music. In her early years she was a talented seamstress and enjoyed various crafts. Lillian loved taking care of and doing things for her six children and their families. She was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Roxy Ann (Wes) Folkens of Maple Grove, MN; Gary (Mary Jo) Knutson of Ortonville, MN; Lonnie (Pat) Knutson of Beardsley, MN; Kim (Terry) Nelson of Kasson, MN; and Rory (Janet) Knutson of Big Stone City, SD; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph; an infant daughter in 1951; son Larry; grandson Danny Knutson; daughter –in-law Carla Knutson; brothers: Arthur, Bernard, and Duane.
