Lady Bulldogs Ax Lady Braves

The Milbank Lady Bulldogs shut out the Britton-Hecla Lady Braves with a 3-0 volleyball victory on the road Thursday, October 17. Milbank’s season record improved to 8-12 with the win.
Milbank started out slow and trailed early, but won the first two sets with identical scores of 25-15. In the third set, Amy Nelson scored four consecutive points for the Lady Bulldogs – three aces and a set kill to put Milbank ahead 7-3. Jaecy Engebretson belted out four kills and Elsie Rogers had one to increase Milbank’s lead to 14-3. Averie Engebretson added a kill and a tip-kill, J. Engebretson added three more kills, Casside Seezs made two kills, Rogers had one, and Madi Thue made a bump kill to close out the win at 25-11.
J. Engebretson led the the Lady Bulldogs with 16 kills on 40-46 hitting, three aces on 8-10 serving, three assists on 10-10 setting, and eight digs. Rogers followed with five kills on 22-23 hitting and seven digs. Tracy Pillatzki added three kills on 7-7 hitting, one ace on 2-4 serving, four digs, and one block. Thue had two kills on 13-16 hitting, 3-3 serving, and nine digs.
Nelson contributed two kills on 4-4 hitting, three aces on 14-16 serving, 12 assists on 44-46 setting, nine digs, and one block. Cassidy Christians tallied six assists on 23-23 setting, 5-6 serving, and 10 digs.
Hallie Schulte made one ace on 9-11 serving, 5-5 setting, 2-2 hitting, and 16 digs; A. Engebretson made two kills on 3-3 hitting, four assists, on 7-7 setting, and 2-2 serving; Seezs, two kills on 2-2 hitting and 1-2 serving; and Siri Bien, 6-7 serving with one ace.
