Joseph and Tracy Tschetter and Teaneashea Vogel will perform with the 2023 South Dakota Middle School All-State Orchestra. The Grand Finale concert will be presented at Jefferson High School in Sioux Falls on Friday, March 10,  at 7 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend. A donation of $5 is suggested.  The performance had been set for this Saturday, February 25, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

The orchestra will be composed of 82 string players in grades six through eight from across the state. Their conductor will be Dr. James Weaver.
Joseph and Traci are second-year members of the orchestra.  They are the children of Ryan and Elaine Tschetter.  Teaneashea is the daughter of Josh and Pamela Vogel.  This will be her first year performing with the orchestra.  The musicians submitted a video audition and were selected from 195 orchestra students. Their teacher is Mrs. Elizabeth Schulte.

The event is held in conjunction with the South Dakota String Teachers Association J. Laiten Weed High School Honors Orchestra and the South Dakota Music Educators Association (SDMEA) String Symposium. The 400-member SDMEA is a state affiliate of the National Association for Music Education, whose mission is to advance music education by promoting the understanding and making of music by all. Schulte is a member of SDMEA and plans to attend the symposium.
