The Milbank boys tennis team traveled to South Dakota’s capital city on April 20 to face Pierre and Mitchell. The Bulldogs took a loss against the Governors at 8-1, but most of the matches were close.  

At No. 4, Charles Whitesitt claimed a victory for MHS when he defeated Riley Southern 10-8. At No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, Joe Schulte and Greg Grabow each took a loss at 10-8. Will Snaza was defeated by Jacob Lieferman 10-3. Isaiah Korstjens at No. 5 and Dan Shelstad at No. 6 each were defeated 10-5. Korstjens by Jake Mikkonen and Shelstad by Weston Northrup.

In doubles action, Schulte and Snaza were defeated 10-8. Grabow and Whitesitt were defeated 10-8, and Korstjens and Will Muellenbach were defeated 10-6.

In their match against Mitchell, Milbank had a rough day on the courts and couldn’t get a win. Schulte was defeated at 10-1, Grabow at 10-2, Snaza at 10-0, Whitesitt at 10-3, Korstjens at 10-0, and Shelstad at 10-2.

The news was the same in doubles play. Schulte and Snaza took the loss at 10-2. Grabow and Whitesitt were defeated 10-3, and Korstjens and Will Muellenbach lost at 10-1.
