Anthony St. Martin was named the winner of the Spirit-Sportsmanship Award at South Dakota’s Special Olympics 2025 State Basketball Tournament. Anthony was selected from the entire school-age division. 

Abbey Trapp, head coach for Milbank said, “Anthony was nominated by our coaching staff along with other coaches. Anthony truly displays kindness on and off the court. He is extremely coachable and willing to help out.” The state basketball tournament was held in Mitchell on March 29-30. The Milbank’s Schoolers team took second place, and the Adult team secured third place. The Milbank cheerleaders brought home first place honors.

What is next —Milbank will host the 2025 Northeast Area Special Olympics Spring Track and Field Games on Friday, May 2, at A.B. Campbell Stadium. Opening ceremonies will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the day will end around 3:00 p.m.
