The Milbank High School girls golf team teed off their 2025 season by hosting the Milbank Invitational at Whetstone Creek Golf Course on Thursday, April 24.

“We have our first and probably our toughest meet of the year under our belts,” said head coach Mark Keeton. “Nobody on the team had played an 18-hole round until Thursday. I am very proud of all the girls and the work they have put in. Playing and walking 18 holes by the rules is not an easy task.”

Madi Rummel of Madison earned medalist honors with her individual score of 80. Marissa Botello led the Milbank Lady Bulldogs with a score of 126. Isabella Flores carded a 128. Macie VanLith finished at 143. “We have a lot of potential on the team but it is going to take some time,” noted Keeton.

Madison took home the team title with a total of 346 points. They edged out Aberdeen Roncalli at 348. Groton claimed third place at 412. Aberdeen Central rounded out the leaderboard with 460. MIlbank did not enter enough golfers to field a team.
