

On Thursday, May 8, the Bulldogs tennis team traveled to Pierre for a regular season match and a trial run of the state tourney. According to Abbey Trapp, head coach for Milbank, the varsity boys fought hard, but could not get a win in the regular season matchup. The varsity Bulldogs were defeated by the Governors 9-0. In JV games, Frank Pederson got a win for the Dawgs in singles. He and Nolan Grabow earned a win for MIlbank in doubles.
On Friday, Pierre hosted a mock state tournament to give the players a chance to test the water before the actual State A tourney takes place May 19-20 in Sioux Falls. “The boys played incredible.,” Trapp said. “It was the best performance this year. Milbank ended up in fourth place overall. We also had many individual players place.”
