Donna O’Farrell, age 56, of Marvin, SD, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Pastor Dr. Peter Reynen will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank.
Donna was born on May 22, 1969, to Robert and Linda (Andrews) Keer in England, where she spent her childhood surrounded by the beauty of the countryside and the love of her family. She graduated high school at just 16 years old. Following her education she pursued a career as a baker, a role that reflected her creativity, work ethic, and love for sharing her talents with others. What began as a youthful passion grew into a lasting career, and she remained in the profession for 17 years.
As a teenager, Donna trained extensively in judo and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the champion of the Southeast of England. Her exceptional skill and dedication earned her an invitation to train with the British Olympic team at just 19 years old, an achievement that remained one of her proudest accomplishments.
Donna met Kelly O’Farrell on December 23, 1998, in England and were married on March 7, 2014, in Milbank, SD.
Before becoming a mother, Donna traveled extensively, embracing opportunities to experience different cultures. She delighted in tasting new foods, learning from diverse traditions, and meeting people from all walks of life, experiences that enriched her perspective and deepened her appreciation for the world. Donna traveled to many different countries with her parents and she visited nearly every island in Greece. Later, she and Kelly continued to share their love of travel, journeying together to Turkey, Belgium, Scotland, and India.
In time, Donna embraced her most cherished roles as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She poured her heart into raising her children and stepchildren, caring for her family, and creating a warm and welcoming home. Donna will be remembered for her generous heart, her loving and compassionate nature, and her deep care for all creatures. She loved animals and shared her life with many pets over the years, often fostering those in need so they, too, could feel safe and loved. She enjoyed the simple joys of life, howling with laughter, dancing, cooking, and playing cards with family and friends. Donna’s warmth touched everyone who knew her, and her kindness will live on in the many lives she impacted.
Donna is survived by her husband, Kelly O’Farrell of Marvin, SD; her children: Keeran and Jack; stepchildren: Jeff, Patrick, and Alex; her parents: Bob and Lynn; her brother, Robert and sister-in-law, Nikki; and her father-in-law, Raymond O’Farrell; her two best friends from England: Jevan and Christal. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Donna’s final wish was for her remains to be sprinkled in the ocean along the west coast of England, near her childhood home — a place she loved deeply — so she could continue to travel the world in spirit.
Donna’s life was one of love, care, and quiet strength, and her memory will be cherished forever.
