Scoular and Berry Win Breathe Easy Meet 

Jeter Scoular, running for the Bulldogs, and Bianca Berry, running for the Lady Bulldogs,  each took first place in the Breathe Easy Cross Country Meet. The annual race was hosted by Milbank at Whetstone Creek Golf Course on Thursday, August 28. 

All five varsity boys took places in the top eight of their 4K run that included a field of 28 athletes. Scoular won the competition with his time of 14:22.06. Liam Heller earned second place at 14:56.77. Franco Flores took fifth at 15:38.10.  Bennett Graham was sixth at 15:47.27. Beckham Berry secured eighth place at 16:10.47. 

Bianca Berry claimed first place for the girls in the 4K run with her time of 17:06 34. Ella Koplin took second at 17:40.24. Macy Mueller was fourth at 18:05.49. Zayda Townsend came in eighth at 19:56.65. Aria Prasnicki took ninth at 19:57.21

In the JV boys 3K competition Matthew Unzen came in fourth at 13:11.49 and Gunnar Anderson was 13th at 20:26.78.

In the JV girls 3K competition, Tabitha McFaden was the top runner for Milbank. She earned  third place at 13:42.69.  Haylen Schneck took  fourth at 14:23.15.  Paola Culhuac Segundo  was fifth at  14:37.82.  Lennox Spors came in sixth at 14:56.74.    Quetzalli Culhuac Segundo was seventh at  15:03.74.  Nuria Rodriguez Duron took 10th place at 15:48.09.  Ainsley Brown was 11th at  15:53.10.  Sophie Gruba took 12th at  16:21.24.  Hannah Pauli was 13th at 16:24.39.  Kinleigh Brandenburger came in 14th at 17:11.16.  Abril Ayala Ramirez was 15th at  17:17.24.  Yanderyn Olivares secured 16th place at 17:33.06. Camryn Sovell was 17th at 17:57.87, and  Fernanda Hernandez Vasquez took 18th place at 18:58.73.

What’s next? Both the boys and the girls teams head to Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls on Friday, September 5, for the 2025 Augustana Twilight race.
