There’s no place like home for the holidays! The annual Hometown Christmas in Milbank will have jingling all the way.  Start your holidays with a jam-packed weekend of fun, food, and festivities. 

First up, is the Soup and Cookie Walk on Friday, December 5, from 5-7 p.m .It’s causing quite a stir!  Enjoy a variety of delicious soups – Stuffed Meatball,Knoephla (dumping), Creamy Tomato,Chili and festive cookies- Cut-Out Frosted Sugar, White Chocolate Macadamia,Frosted Roll-Out and Chocolate Chip. Purchase tickets in advance on the Milbank Chamber website to secure your place. A limited number of tickets will also be available at The Bank at 301 Main on Friday  starting at 4:30 p.m. First come, first serve. It’s all about soup-ly and demand.

If you carrot all, fill out a ballot to  vote for the most soupreme soup and your name goes in a drawing. You could win $50 in Ol’ Mill Bucks. And dough not  give in to any half-baked plans to leave without a cookie. That would be nuts. 

Hometown Christmas, including the Soup and Cookie Walk are brought to you by the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC)  and all its members. Remember to shop local for unique gifts for everyone on your list.

Pancake Breakfast: 8-10am | Milbank Elementary School – Proceeds benefit Emanuel Lutheran Youth Group

Craft & Vendor Fair: 9am-2pm | Milbank Elementary School
Almost 40 vendors registered. Free admission!

Business Open Houses: – From  open until 3 p.m.
Downtown stores will offer specials and unique gift ideas

Festival of Trees: 11a.m.-1p.m. | Grant County Courthouse

Lego Contest & Bake Sale: 1p.m. | 4-H Complex
Ages 4-adult. Pre-registration for competition was required 

Free Movie: 3:30 p.m. | Mill Theatre
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (PG), Free small pop and popcorn/person. Free admission, Doors open at 2:45 p.m. First come, first served.

Tree Lighting Ceremony & Caroling: 6 p.m. | Valley Queen Music Park 
Olivia Foell, the new Miss Milbank 2026, will do the honors of lighting the tree.

Pictures with Santa and 2026 Miss Milbank: 6:30-7:30 p.m. | First Interstate Bank
Hot Chocolate will be served. Visit and get your photo with Santa and 2026 Miss Milbank- Snow Queen Olivia Foell and Little Miss Milbank Leighlah Sheperd.

Drive Thru Light Display: 5-9 p.m. | 4-H Grounds – open nightly December  6-January.

Christmas Karaoke: 8 p.m. | The Pump 2.0 in downtown Milbank

Cosmic Bowling: 7 p.m. and  9 p.m. | Top Hat Lanes

Light Up Milbank–Business Decorating Contest –  Businesses Public Voting Online: December 5-31

All Milbank-area businesses are invited to join a friendly competition and help spread some holiday cheer. Decorate your business with your brightest, most festive light display for a chance to receive a free annual Chamber Membership (includes general business base fee–value of $225). Open to all businesses. Chamber membership is not required.
