Milbank Gymnastics Team Goes to State on Friday

The Lady Bulldog gymnasts are headed to State on Friday. The 2026 Class A and Class AA gymnastics championships will be held at the Corn Palace in Mitchell on February 13-14.
.At the Region/NEC meet in Britton on Thursday, February 5, Milbank finished sixth in Region 1A. After the Region 2A meet was completed, all the scores were put together and the top eight teams became eligible for State. Milbank punched their ticket by securing eighth place as a team
Cumulative individual scores also determined the top 40 gymnasts for each event at the state meet. In the Vault competition, Macyn Dunihoo, Raina Untalan, Aria Prasnicki, and Jada Leigh Wellnitz each qualified individually. Aria and Timbree Spors qualified on the Bars. Macyn and Raina qualified on the Beam. Macyn, Raina, Aria, and Nuria Rodriguez Duron qualified for the Floor Exercise.
In Britton, Aria led the Lady Bulldogs on the Bars with her score of 7.275. She took 23rd place. Raina, competing on the Bars for the first time since early January, added her long hang kip-to-fly away connection to add .1 to her bonus. She scored 6.725 and tied for 31st place. Macyn counted a fall, but she scored 6.475 for 33rd. Jada Leigh also counted a fall, but she tied with teammate Raina at 6.725 for 31st place. Nuria performed a clean no-stop routine. She scored 7.1 for 29th. Timbree scored 7.25 for 25th place.
Kelly Wollschlager, head coach for the Lady Bulldogs, commented, “On the Beam, the team counted two falls but kept their jumps connected.” Raina led Milbank with a no-fall routine. She scored 8.725 to take ninth place . Macyn took 12th with a no-fall presentation and her highest beam score of the season at 8.575. Jada Leigh scored 7.975 for 25th place. Nuria scored 7.925 for 27th. Marley Pinkert and Aria tied – each scored 7.45 for 31st place.
“The girls finished strong in their favorite two events, ” Wollschlager noted. On the Floor; Macyn led the team with a 9.25 to take third place. Raina scored 8.875 to take 10th place. Aria scored 8.425 for 23rd. Marley scored 8.35 to tie for 27th. Nuria recorded 8.3 for 30th. Jada Leigh scored 8.175 to secure 32nd place.
Finishing on the Vault; Macyn led the team with a score of 8.7 to take ninth place. Raina earned 8.575 for 14th. Aria scored 8.55 for 15th. Jada Leigh received an 8.375 for 21st place. Nuria scored 8.225 for 31st, and Tenley received an 8.025 for 34th place.
In the All-Around competition; Macyn scored 33.0 points for 14th place. Raina scored 32.9 for 15th. Aria scored 31.7 to secure 19th place. Nuria pit up 31.55 points for 21st place, and Jada Leigh came in 23rd with 31.25.,
