Members of the Milbank High School Choir performed during the 2026 Region III Solo and Ensemble Music Contest at Watertown High School on Wednesday, February 25. MHS Vocal Director Miriam Schwenn accompanied the students to the event. According to Schwenn, several students were unable to attend due to illness.
Solo performances were performed in front of an adjudicator and based on: tone, intonation, accuracy, interpretation, vocal technique, and performance factors such as literature choice and professional conduct. Ensemble groups were also critiqued on balance and blend.
Each area of concern was worth five points. The total at the end of each performance determined the overall rating. Milbank vocalists received 19 Superior (I), and 10 Excellent (II) ratings.
