Ronald Gayland Chase was born on September 4, 1950, in Ortonville, MN, to Gayland and Marlys (Hansen) Chase. He led a life filled with purpose, love, and dedication to his family, friends, and community.

Ronald was a proud graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1969. After high school, he served his country honorably in the National Guard. In 1970, Ronald met Linda Sackreiter, the love of his life. The two were united in marriage on September 22, 1973, and they were blessed with three children: Kristi, Carri, and Danny. Ronald and Linda shared a beautiful marriage and partnership that spanned over five decades.

In 1970, Ronald purchased his beloved farm, where he worked diligently as a life-long farmer, skillfully tending to the land and raising hogs. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his faith, as he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville. He also served on the Almond Township Board, contributing to the betterment of his community.

Beyond his agricultural endeavors, Ronald found joy in the great outdoors; he loved snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter months and spent many summer days fishing and teaching his children the joys of water skiing. He cherished time spent at the lake, where laughter and memories were created. A dedicated fan of high school basketball, volleyball, softball, and football, Ronald enjoyed supporting local teams and fostering a spirit of community pride.

He was known for his passion for John Deere tractors and Ford pickups, which brought him joy and pride throughout his life. Ronald’s love for machinery was matched only by his enthusiasm for spending time outdoors, where he found comfort and satisfaction in nature.

With a wonderful sense of humor and a heart as big as the prairies he farmed, Ronald was a cherished figure to all who knew him. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart; he delighted in their company and made lasting memories, one of which was his endearing tradition of bringing soft caramels for them each time they met.

Left to cherish Ronald’s memory are his wife, Linda, of Ortonville, MN; daughters: Kristi Arndt of Canby, MN; and Carri (Brian) Hamann of Ortonville, MN; and son, Danny (Kerry) Chase of Clinton, MN; six grandchildren: Kortni Arndt (Carter Olson), Kenadi Arndt, Kyson Arndt; and their father, Ryan Arndt; Keegan (Mikayla) Hamann, Tehya Hamann, and Addison Chase; one great-grandchild, Beckett Olson; and one great-grandchild Hamann on the way; sisters: Sharen (DeWayne) Redfield, Marilyn Monroe, Linda (Frank) Armstrong, Hollie (Keith) Stotesbery; brothers: Mark (Pam) Chase, and Kyle (Paula) Chase; sisters-in-law: Stella Steffen, and Marian (Rick) Sigdestad; brother-in-law, Robert (Judy) Sackreiter; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother-in-law, Jerry Monroe; sister-in-law, Nancy (Chuck) Hayes; and parents-in-law: Harvey and Ella Sackreiter.
