Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary! Kids up to age 14 are invited to join the annual Fishing Derby from 3-5 p.m. at Lake Farley Park. Don’t have a fishing pole. No problem. The Sons of the American Legion have donated Free fishing poles for all participants. Bait and tackle will also be provided. No preregistration is required. Prizes will be awarded!
The derby is hosted by Rick and Wendy Hentges and the Sons of the American Legion.
It’s Rain or Shine (except in the case of severe weather). In honor of our nation’s 250th Birthday, the Declaration of Independence will be read aloud.
Take another trip back in time to Tommy’s Popcorn. Tommy’s will be open before the fireworks. The fireworks show is set to go off at 10 p.m. Best parking is at the new soccer field. Hartman Drive will be closed. Bring your own chair or blanket and celebrate the day and the year under the stars. In case of inclement weather, the fireworks will be held Sunday, July 5.
