Casey’s Marks Reopening with $2,500 Gift to Ortonville Fire Department

The Ortonville Fire Department received a check for $2,500 from Casey’s on Thursday, July 15. The gift was an expression of gratitude for the firefighters’ rapid response to an early morning blaze that broke out on February 4. Firefighters had battled flames and heavy smoke, but had mounted a coordinated attack that kept the fire from claiming the entire building. However, the building sustained extensive damage.

Fans, firemen, and company representatives gathered at Casey’s on Highway 12 in Ortonville to celebrate the convenience and pizza retailer’s reopening. Casey’s is headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa, a suburb of Des Moines.
