Terry Mielitz

Terry Lee Mielitz, age 72, of Big Stone City, SD, died February 16, 2018, at Fairway View Neighborhoods.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Pastor Thom Bowsher will officiate. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Terry Lee Mielitz was born on December 23, 1945, in Ortonville, MN, the son of Delmer & Loretta (Robertson) Mielitz. He attended school in Ortonville and graduated with the class of 1963. Immediately following graduation from high school, Terry enlisted in the National Guard. He served until 1966 when he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1975.

On June 16, 1967, Terry married Judith Storm in Milbank, SD. They made their home all over the United States, and eventually settled back in Big Stone City. He worked for Cold Spring Granite, and as an electrician for Ken’s Electric. They were blessed with five children: Wade, Teresa, Slade, Timothy, and Casey.

Terry loved fishing, spoiling his dog “Princess”, and spending time with his family and friends. He liked playing cards, especially pinochle.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Judith; son, Timothy; his parents; and one sibling.

Survivors include his children: Wade (Tanna Bowman Green) Mielitz of GA; Teresa (Ken) Madden of GA; Slade (Kate) Mielitz of OR; Casey Johnson of Big Stone City, SD; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
