Kevin Cantine of Milbank hit a robin hood on June 19, during summer league at Bent Arrow Archery Range and Pro Shop. A robin hood, named after the book and movie by the same name, occurs when an archer hits the exact spot twice on the target.
Unlike earlier days when wooden arrows were used, the new carbon arrows don’t split. Many archers never throw a robin hood in a lifetime of shooting. This was Kevin’s second robin hood during the 10-week league. Even more surprising, is Kevin just picked up a bow and started practicing archery a few months ago.
Bent Arrow Archery and Pro Shop is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 307 South 5th Street, in the former Milbank Middle School. Questions? Want to sign up for classes? Call 605.924.0444.
