The Milbank collection center for The South Dakota Orphan Grain Train hosts its annual German sausage dinner on Sunday, October 21. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall at the Emanuel Lutheran Church. Miss it and you’ll feel the wurst!

Your free will donation gets you a plate of sausage from Waldner’s Specialty Meats, potatoes, salad, sauerkraut, dessert, and beverage. You’ll be stuffed! Your donation supports hurricane victims in Texas, Florida, the Caribbean, and North Carolina. Emanuel Lutheran Church is located at 701 South 1st Street in Milbank.

The Milbank center has been doing relief work for 13 years. Mercy Meals food packaging shares the same building. About half of Orphan Grain Train’s relief stays in the United States. In South Dakota, Orphan Grain Train purchased furnaces for homes hit by tornadoes and flooding in southeast South Dakota. Food and clothing go to Indian reservations, including six in the Rapid City area. Wessington Springs received help after a tornado hit that area. Volunteers are needed! Help in the warehouse, or help from your home. Questions? Need more information? Call Jeanette at 605.432.5612, Joyce at 605.432.4377 or Mae at 605.432.6413.
