Registration for the 2019 Summer Reading Program is going on now at the Big Stone City Branch Library. This year’s theme is A Universe of Stories. The program runs Wednesdays from the end of May through the middle of July.

Activities include games, stories, and crafts coordinated around the theme of space exploration. Children are also encouraged to read and earn points to win prizes from the treasure chest. On June 5, children participating in the summer reading program and their families, will be invited to the library to see the storyteller, David Lloyd, perform magical stories and puppetry.

Children just completing first grade through fifth grade are eligible for this free library program. Parental registration is required at the library during normal library hours on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. until to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The library is located on the south side of the Big Stone City Community Center at 400 Washington Street just one block south of main street.
