State golfers teed off Monday, May 18, at the State Golf tournament in Madison in near freezing weather. Temperatures were in the mid-forties. Wind speeds up to 30 mph and snow flurries added to the wintry conditions. Scores reflected the unseasonable conditions as only one eagle and 13 birdies were recorded. Brittany Ackerman, MHS senior and Milbank’s lone entry, scored 116.

Scores, along with the weather, improved on the second day. Milbank’ s Ackerman shot a 114 and finished 61st overall. Parkston took home the state hardware propelled by first place winner Sydney Bormann and second place winner Sydney Weber.
