25th Annual Valley Queen Cheeseburger Day Breaks Cheeseburger Record

Chalk it up to a beautiful June day or a visit from the governor during Milbank’s moment in the sun as Capital for a Day, but the 25th Annual Valley Queen Cheeseburger Day served a record 2,920 burgers to area guests at Lake Farley on Thursday afternoon.

Along with special guests Governor Dennis Daugaard and First Lady Linda Daugaard, the event featured live music from The Golden Tunes (pictured left) and The Hackwiths.

With assistance from the Millstone Family Restaurant, the meal was served by members of the SD Junior Holstein Association and Milbank FFA, both of whom will be recipients of the over $8,700 in proceeds raised.
