The Milbank Farmer’s Market, sponsored by the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce, will feature its first ever farm-to-table meal Tuesday, July 28, in the parking lot of the Milbank Visitor Center.
“This is the first time we will serve a meal,” noted Connie Larson, chamber director. “If the meal is well received, I would like to see other groups use this opportunity for fundraising and would like to see this venture really grow.”
The first meal Tuesday will be provided by Silver Safe Homestead. The group will serve walking tacos using grass-fed beef and all homegrown vegetables. The meal will implement the farm-to-table concept and will use it as a learning method as well as providing a delicious meal. Included in the meal will be dessert and a drink for the cost of $5.
The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Music will be provided throughout the evening by the River of Life Band. The chamber will be giving away helium balloons to children who attend.
The Farmer’s Market began July 7 and will run each Tuesday through the middle of September. The weekly hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Any vendor is welcome. There is no cost for the vendors. Items sold include baked goods, produce, re-purposed furniture and other various items. Vendors are asked to sign up ahead of time with the chamber office.
