Some new faces and staff changes will greet students this fall at St.Lawrence School. In addition to Brenda Anderson being named as the school principal, Barb Thompson has joined the staff, and Candice Schultz has moved from 5th grade to kindergarten, filling Principal Anderson’s former position.
Thompson is coming out of retirement to teach 1st grade. She will replace Louisa Weissenfluh, who retired last May. Thompson isn’t entirely new to St. Lawrence, though, as she has been a regular substitute teacher there for several years. She is also a former public school teacher and holds a degree in Special Education.
Candi Cloos will start as the new 5th grade instructor. Cloos, who resides in Big Stone City, also holds a degree in Special Education.
Returning to the staff are: Jean Graf, preschool; Mary Hagen, 2nd grade; Andrea Wiese, 3rd grade; Sara Johnson, 4th grade; and Paula Rausch, 6th grade. Graf is cutting back and will teach at 60% time- the a.m. class only. Anderson will take over the p.m. preschool class three afternoon a week.
Ann Tuchscherer will continue to teach computers, Deb Rausch returns as the music instructor, and Julie Landmark serves as the School Secretary.
