Bulldog Golfers Improve at Groton Invitational

The Milbank Area boys golf team improved its scores and landed in sixth place at the Groton Invitational meet Saturday with a team score of 406. “The boys are continuing to work hard and improve,” noted Bulldog head coach Mark Keeton. “We are hitting a lot of good shots but need to eliminate some of those mistakes that are hurting our scorecards.”
Aberdeen Roncalli won the event with a 330. Sisseton was second at 340 while Groton Area finished third with a 357. Other team totals were Aberdeen Central JV, 382; Mobridge-Pollock, 387; Milbank Area, 406, and Redfield-Doland, 443.
Leading the Bulldogs individually was Adam Thomas with an 18-hole score of 88 (45-43). He was just one stroke out of placing in the top 10 for the tournament. Isaac Nolz followed with a 98 (48-50) while Noah Pillatzki shot a 100 (50-50). Rounding out the Bulldogs were Chase Pinkert, 120 (59-61); Will Mischel, 122 (61-61), and Keaton Hagen, 125 (66-59).
Milbank Area will travel to Redfield-Doland Tuesday, September 15, for an invitational at Fischer Grove. Tee time is set for 10 a.m.
