The Grant County Christian Service Council was presented a check for $500 from Milbank Hometown Shopko team members recently. The money received was used during the council’s back-to-school event.
Money for the project was obtained through the Shopko Foundation Community Charitable Grant and was used to provide 120 children with a voucher for a free pair of shoes, sock and underwear from Shopko.
Council members accepting the check were Janet Loeschke and LeAnn Kuper of Milbank.
The Shopko Foundation is proud of Shopko’s roots as a retail health and optical care provider. To maximize its impact, the foundation has a narrow focus on areas of giving that support the health of Shopko customers, teammates and communities. The foundation also recognizes that education is fundamental to an individual’s health and functionality in society.
