The Milbank High School vocal music department will perform its first concert of the school year Tuesday, October 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the high school theater.

The concert choir, under the direction of Miriam Schwenn, will present their annual fall concert with a wide variety of music.

Songs will include a traditional American Folk song, “Nine Hundred Miles”, arranged by Philip E. Silvey; an Amy Bernon composition entitled “Oceans and Stars”; a traditional South African freedom song adapted by Jeffery Ames; a new Greg Gilpin release, “Bring Me, Little Water, Silvy” and a “Baba Yetu” presentation from the video game Civilization IV.

Throughout the large group presentation, several students will be featured soloists.

In addition to the MHS choir, area musicians will share a few selections. The public is invited to attend and support the music department.
